Great blue heron

I adopted this Heron colony to help the Maine inland fisheries and wildlife . I go in a few times and count the young and how many nests ect. It is fun to do, and I get to photograph them and the young. This is a photo of an adult returning to the nest to feed the young, and the other parent then leaves to go hunting.

Motherly love

This old cow has had a lot of babies over the years, last year she had twins, this year she has this one adorable little baby that come out to say hi to mom.

5-31-14-175  This big sow has triplets , and they are tiny and adorable, you can only see 2 in this photo, the third one seems to be always staying back a little.

Young pied billed Grebe

I stood in the tall reed grass for over an hour waiting for these little cuties to come close enough for a good photo, and it finally did.

Teenage eagles

Immature bald eagles are like teenagers, always bullying each other, sometimes for no apparent reason! The eagle on the top here came and rolled the one on the bottom who was just standing there minding his own business. They didn’t get hurt, but the poor little guy did roll over and over a few times. Maybe it’s there way of play fighting.

Raccoon at the Maine coast.

I was surprised and thrilled to see this adorable little raccoon at the coast while on a ride last weekend. I live in the country inland , and hardly ever see them anymore, so I was so happy this little cutie allowed me close enough for some shots. it came out just before dark and was walking alone the rocky shore line.
