Can you identify this turtle? …Last seen leaving a muddy, dried up Gorongosa waterhole

Turtle

I have googled this little guy and have failed to identify him! We came across it walking down a dusty road in the Gorongosa National Park in search of a new waterhole. It had a very long way to go! Around the time this picture was taken (June) the waterholes in the park begin to dry up. It becomes a life or death situation for many species. Stay and they are bound to meet their end, or go in search of new water. It’s an exciting time of year. The birds in their hundreds flock to the waterholes for easy pickings. And other such as crocodiles and turtles are seen leaving, walking for miles in search of a new abode.
